Michigan Watercraft Insurance

Michigan Watercraft Insurance

Enjoy worry free boating.

We want you to spend as much time in your boat as Michigan weather allows, so we’re here to make sure you’re covered for whatever gets thrown at you. Whether you have a fishing boat,
the latest surf rig, or a yacht for exploring the Great Lakes; our agency has the products and knowledge to keep your time on the water worry free.

Michigan Watercraft Insurance 101

While you may be able to add your boat onto your homeowners policy, a standalone watercraft insurance policy will cover you away from your home and out on the water – where you want to be. Plus if you have a mishap with your boat and a claim is paid, it won’t affect your homeowners premium at the next renewal if you have a standalone watercraft policy.

Collision

Collision provides coverage and pays repairs when your boat is damaged due to a – you guessed it – collision. With collision coverage, you choose your out of pocket deductible.

Comprehensive

Comprehensive coverage pays for repairs to your boat in the event that it is stolen, vandalized, or otherwise damaged in an incident other than by collision.

Uninsured & Underinsured Boater

What happens if another boater hits you and either doesn’t have high enough insurance limits to cover the loss – or worse yet, doesn’t have insurance at all? This is where your uninsured or underinsured boat insurance coverage comes into play and covers damage, injuries, medical bills, and lost wages while you recover from the accident.

Property Damage Liability & Bodily Injury Liability

While comprehensive and collision coverage will cover repairs to your boat, your property damage and bodily injury coverage (sometimes you’ll see this as BI/PD) provides coverage for damage you cause to others’ property and injuries they suffer.

Medical Payments

You can pick the limit of coverage for medical payments that will cover immediate medical expenses for yourself or passengers within your boat.

Additional Watercraft Coverages

Spend a lot of time in your boat? Use it for more than just making waves? Here’s some additional add-on coverages to increase the level of protection your boat insurance policy affords.

  • Total loss replacement
  • On-Water towing
  • Full coverage for fishing equipment
  • Full coverage for carry-on items
  • Mechanical breakdown coverage
  • Trailer trip interruption
  • Disappearing deductible
